According to Symantec's March, 2005 threat report, spam, usually defined as junk or unsolicited email, made up over 60% of all email traffic during the reporting period from July to December 2004. By anyone's definition, that's a lot of junk e-mail. But, as security professionals know, spam is much more than annoyance and can adversely affect system and data integrity.
